It’s important that we continue to fight for justice for Northern Rock shareholders. Therefore we need a new NRSAG committee.

Mo Majid is the one remaining committee member, supported by former committee member Pradeep Chand in an advisory capacity.

So assistance and support from NRSAG members is a must.  Please email the UKSA Office, officeatuksa@gmail.com, if you are interested in joining the committee.

Mo puts it clearly: We regroup and rethink or we retreat. There is no right or wrong approach. NRSAG has kept on fighting but when arguments fall on deaf ears regardless of their validity, well, it’s tough.

We need to formulate a new NRSAG committee and put together a new strategy to proceed with our campaign; we require an agenda and timescales, strategy and action plan under UKSA auspices.

We have at least four options available to us:

1. Lobby the Government by writing to PM Rishi Sunak to see if he is willing to initiate an independent inquiry;

2. Build the NRSAG Facebook page by utilising the funds that we have in the bank with the aim of reaching 5000+ page followers.

3. If we fail in our attempts to convince the Government to hold an independent inquiry then we could focus on an online petition to send to Parliament – if this exceeds 100,000 signatures then it will be discussed by MPs.

4. Take legal action now that the facts are known about the “cost to the taxpayer”.

Our main barrier to progress is finding a way to attract Government’s interest for re-examining our cause.

What is required of the Committee?

This work is conducted on a voluntary basis.

We will need a mixture of virtual and face-to-face meetings, including with UKSA to manage the handover from the previous to the new committee.

We are looking for people who feel they have enough energy and enthusiasm to contribute to committee discussion, who can provide a clear sense of direction and are able, as part of a team, to follow through the various paths of activity that will arise.

Committee volunteers need strong communication skills and must be computer literate.

The icing on the cake is if committee volunteers have influential contacts, have media experience or contacts, or have legal knowledge.
