Thomas Saltiel

Thomas Saltiel was born and brought up in Paris - France in a bilingual family. After the French Baccalauréat, he attended the University of Bath - England graduating with a BSc. In Business Administration.

To combine his interest in travelling with a career, Thomas joined Lloyds Bank International Ltd initially working in New York - USA, Toronto and Vancouver - Canada. After a spell as a forward Money Market dealer in London and Paris, Thomas’s international banking career developed in Trade Finance, International Strategic Planning and Corporate Banking from the Head Office in London culminating in the Coverage of Bank and Non-Bank Financial Institutions in Western Europe and North America for the Lloyds Banking Group.

More recently Thomas took the Financial Times Non-Executive Director Diploma developing an interest in Corporate Governance, ESG, Cyber Security issues and “nascent” AI.

Thomas sat on the board of a large NHS Hospital in South West London, is currently Chair of XTEND - The Executive Network, a not-for-profit professional network in the UK and is on the board of a Family Property Company in France.

Thomas’s portfolio is invested both in shares and investment trusts in the UK and Euroland.

As a former banker, Thomas is very concerned by the low level of financial education in the UK and hopes to raise UKSA’s profile in that realm.

Apart from travelling, Thomas enjoys cinema, good food, fine wines, swimming and walking.
